Walton Brook Vineyard Pinot Gris 2013 classic method: tasting
Every year the Euposia Challenge presents interesting innovations in the panorama of the international classic method. This Pinot gris comes from Leicestershire, a vine not widely used in sparkling wines; technology and clones from Germany for this winery started in 2008 on hills facing south in this county in the heart of the United Kingdom, just north of Leicester. Walton Brook is a small winery, with just under 10 thousand vines planted and this Pinot Gris is 2013 with disgorging in 2018. Brilliant in the glass, it has immediate citrine notes of lime with white flowers, herbaceous and notes of powder. The palate is very fresh, acidic shoulder still important despite the evolution on the yeasts, wide palate where citrus notes, grapefruit and a soft almond finish typical of the vine return. Inviting to drink, very pleasant and overall very balanced.
